I miss crochet! But I promise I will post some of the things I've been doing :D
yeeeah, meanwhile a recipe:
Something quick and Beto-Friendly but also Veggie friendly. (But if you don't even eat flour, this may not be for you!):)
-A cup of pasta (very thin - noodle-like)
- 2 red tomatoes
- half an onion
- salt
- a slice of garlic
- half a glass of water
- oil
- 1 1/2 cup of chopped celery
1. Fry the pasta with the oil until it starts smelling delicious and turns into a nice light tan. (MOVE repeatedly, otherwise it burns and turns brown!)
2. While frying, put the tomatoes, onion, garlic and salt in the mixer, pour the water and mix.
3. When the noodles are tanned and have been fried, pour the mix into it. (You should hear a lovely PSSHHHHH)
4. Mix once again and boil. (Cover it)
5. Put the celery to boil with the soup.
6. Taste to check salt.
Done!
:)

4. Mezclar otra vez y dejar hervir. (Tapar, de preferencia).
5. Poner el apio en la mezcla.
6. Probar de sal.
Listo!

Lula's lentil soup
(Each of these posts will be related to slow-food, which is a modern view on food. Slow-cooked meals are way healthier than the common "fast-foods", but think about it: I'm recognized for being impatient, and this "slow-food" is actually not that slow, give it a go!) Introducing to you: Lula's lentil Soup. Maybe it has its origins in Brasilian cuisine (they mix rice and beans on a dry basis A LOT), but it came to my attention because it's one of my sister's inventions and favorites, and even my granny (a delicious baker) gave it two thumbs up. My sister name is Lula, btw.
1. Lula Lentil Soup
Time of preparation: 20 minutes
Ingredients (6 portions):
1 cup of clean lentils
1 cup of white or brown rice
A half onion sliced up
A half garlic slice (WHOLE, do not slice it)
Salt

*Add 1 1/2 cup of water for each cup of rice and lentils.
1. Put the water on a bowl, put the onion, garlic and salt together until the water boils.
2. Once the water is boiling, pour the lentils and rice in the bowl. Mix with a spoon and let it sit while it boils again.
3. CHECK CONSTANTLY. Rice and Lentils tend to DRY up the water in the bowl. Re-fill with purified water for 2 or 3 times until both the rice and lentil grains are cooked and soft on your mouth.
4. Although it may seem like an art, once the grains are cooked, DO NOT pour anymore water, keep boiling until all of the water has dried from the bowl. Notice in the picture how, if we move the grains with a spoon, there is still water underneath. All water has to dry before we are officially done. Lower the flame and keep cookin'!
5. Put special attention on the bowl so that the rice does not stick to the bottom of the bowl. Check for any water left underneath, if everything is moist but not wet, then you're ready to turn the flame off. And you're set!
Hope you like this little recipe from my sister :)
