Stitch n' Bitch + Happy Hooker + Knit Happens' Debbie Stoller.

I would like to be known as a woman that recognizes the work of other women, despite of everything they say about us women being jealous of other women's achievements. (Got tired of writting women! phew!)
That is why I bring you today the marvelous work of Debbie Stoller, creator of: Stitch n' Bitch , Happy Hooker Book,  Knit Happens,  Stitch Nation Yarn, and Bust magazine. Having wrote part of her impressive resume, I can just simply add that second only to my grandma (she was the one to show me how to crochet), she is my crochet inspiration.

She is hip, feminine and feminist, cool and fearless, and that is why I love her. AND she has made her life purpose to bring crafts again to the minds of every women, because she feels that craft have been somewhat neglected for its feminine association.

Debbie definitely is my inspiration to continue to crochet and keep on looking for spaces so that crochet and knitting are brought together with a modern approach.

Me gustaría ser conocida como una mujer que sabe reconocer el trabajo de otras mujeres, a pesar de todo lo que dicen sobre cómo las mujeres son más celosas con los logros de otras mujeres. (Sí, me cansé de escribir "mujeres").
Es por eso que hoy les traigo al blog el maravilloso trabajo de Debbie Stoller, creador de Stitch n' Bitch, Happy Hooker Book, Knit Happens, Stitch Nation Yarn y la revista en inglés Bust.  Habiendo -y espero correctamente- escrito parte de su profundo currículum, sólo puedo agregar que es mi segunda inspiración para tejer (solamente después de mi abuela, quien me enseñó el arte del crochet).


Ella es chida, cool, femenina y feminista y valiente, por eso la amo. Y ella se ha propuesto modernizar las artes manuales y traerlas de regreso por que según sus palabras, todas las manualidades habían sido olvidadas y hasta rebajadas por la sociedad por su asociación con el mundo femenino.


Debbie es, definitivamente mi inspiración para seguir crocheteando y seguir buscando espacios para que el tejido en general sean traidos de regreso con un enfoque menos abuelezco.
